Alameda Health Systems Highland Hospital, John Muir Medical Center Walnut Creek, UCSF-Benioff-Children’s Hospital of Oakland and Sutter Health Eden Medical Center are all ACS Verified Trauma Centers serving The East Bay Area and beyond. This is an Annual Trauma Symposium between all 4 centers and we are pleased to be working in conjunction with the Office of Emergency Services of Alameda County. The four ACS Verified Trauma Centers came together and recognized the need to place a focus on trauma as a system, a sum of all it’s parts. From that recognition this symposium was born. It has been put forward to provide education to all levels of caregivers that care for our trauma patients. EMS and trauma centers and non-trauma hospitals must all work in conjunction to provide evidence based, current and effective care to these patients. We have a responsibility, as trauma centers, to work with our community and expand the practices and minds of all healthcare providers that may come into contact with these types of patients or situations. It has been a wonderful, enlightening and humbling experience working cohesively to come up with a dynamic line-up of speakers and facilitate an extraordinary event such as this. We could not do this without the support to our partners and our attendees. We hope to continue these events for many years to come. We look forward to seeing all our speakers and attendees!
